Mullah Baradar: Now There is a Better Opportunity for Job Creation for the General Public
Bayan News – Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban, stated that in the current conditions, a better opportunity has emerged to support small businesses aimed at reducing poverty for the general public.
He made these remarks on Wednesday, November 13, at the national conference “Microfinance: Opportunities and Challenges,” held in Kabul. In addition to Taliban officials, representatives from the United Nations, the European Union, the World Bank, and ambassadors residing in Kabul were also present at the conference.
The Taliban’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs stated, “The beneficiaries of the microfinance sector are the general public and the poor, farmers, and small business owners. Supporting them is a common goal of the Islamic Emirate (Taliban) and the international community.”
This senior Taliban official added that the current Kabul administration sees it as its responsibility to reduce poverty, unemployment, and create job opportunities. For this reason, regulations have been put in place by the Central Bank to oversee and regulate this sector, which had not been done in the past twenty years, to support small businesses and create new job opportunities.
Mullah Baradar explained, “Support and cooperation with the microfinance sector is important because this sector is directly connected to the lives of the general public and the poor. Through this sector, assistance is provided to farmers, the general public, and the poor, offering them employment opportunities.
This contributes to reducing poverty, unemployment, and social issues, ultimately leading to economic growth and strengthening the national economy.”
