16 Mineral Areas Put Up for Auction by the Taliban for Extraction
Bayan News – The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Taliban’s interim government announced on Thursday (November 28) that it has put 16 mineral areas up for auction for extraction.
According to a statement released by the Economic Affairs Department of the interim government, three gold mines in Badakhshan and Kunduz, along with lead, iron, and copper mines in Ghazni and Herat, are included in the auction.
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum also mentioned that marble mining areas in Herat, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Parwan, Bamyan, and coal mines in Badghis and Ghor are also part of the auction.
The ministry has invited both domestic and foreign bidders to participate in the auction for these mineral resources.
Since taking power, the interim government has widely pursued the extraction of Afghanistan’s mineral and natural resources. However, this move by the government has consistently sparked criticism from political opponents.
