An international health agency has warned in a report that the humanitarian situation and the provision of health services in Afghanistan have deteriorated.
The International Health Organization (IMC) estimates in its latest report that by 2022, 24.4 million people in Afghanistan will be in need of medical assistance.
Stating that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating, the organization said that two-thirds of the country’s population is in urgent need of medical assistance.
According to the organization, with the deteriorating economic situation in Afghanistan and the lack of financial resources, the health care workers in this country have not received their monthly salaries for several months, and at the same time, most of the hospitals are facing shortages of medicine.
With the fall of Kabul to the Taliban, in addition to increasing economic challenges, the health crisis in Afghanistan spread.
AsiaTimes surveys show that medicine prices have doubled in the past eight months, and most hospitals have collapsed due to economic problems.
