Bayan News – The White House stated that the additional military aid to Taiwan from the US will include equipment and training for Taiwanese forces.
Two senior US officials, who refused to be named, added that Washington’s aid package to Taipei includes portable air defense systems, intelligence equipment, and weapons.
Meanwhile, the US Congress has authorized President Joe Biden’s administration to use US military reserves to aid Taiwan.
Under the congressional decision, the aid package will be delivered to Taiwan more quickly than usual, a method that was used to aid Ukraine after Russia’s attack.
However, Washington’s decision to provide military aid to Taipei has faced strong criticism from Chinese diplomats, and the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense thanked the US in a statement for its “firm commitment” to Taiwan’s security.
