Abdullahian’s Conversation with Muttaqi Regarding the Mazar-i-Sharif Event
Bayan News – Amir Abdullahian, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, states that in his first meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, he asked him to clarify his stance on the tragic incident at Iran’s consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif.
The Iranian Foreign Minister tweeted on Wednesday evening (August 8): “In my first meeting, I told Mr. Mulla Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, to clarify his stance on the tragic incident at Iran’s consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif.”
Abdullahian further wrote that the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan responded to him, stating that there is no connection between today’s Taliban and the Taliban of that time.
The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan informed his Iranian counterpart that the Kabul Interim Government condemns this inhumane act.
However, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the people of Iran will not forget this tragic incident.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, in a statement, urged the Kabul Interim Government to identify the dimensions of this attack and its perpetrators.
It should be noted that 25 years ago today, the Iranian consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif was attacked, and diplomats and an Iranian journalist were killed.
