Muttaqi Asks UNAMA Chief for Clarification on Doha Conference Agenda
The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Amir Khan Muttaqi, the head of the ministry, has requested clarification on the agenda of the upcoming Doha conference from Roz Otunbayeva, the head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in Kabul.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, added in a newsletter today, Monday (February 4th), that Muttaqi reiterated the Taliban’s position on UN Security Council Resolution 2721 and emphasized the importance of constructive interaction.
The acting head of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to request further clarification from UNAMA regarding the agenda and composition of the upcoming Doha conference, which will be hosted by the United Nations.
Amir Khan Muttaqi has stated that a decision will be made for the participation of the Taliban delegation in the Doha conference once these explanations are provided.
The Doha conference, with the participation of special representatives from countries for Afghanistan and under the auspices of the United Nations, will be held on February 18th and 19th of this month.
