Officials in the Taliban-led government have said in response to visits by US special envoy to Afghanistan Thomas West that provoking Kabul’s opponents would not be in Washington’s interest.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the general spokesman for the Taliban-led government, made the remarks in an interview with the BBC on Thursday (June 12th).
Over the past two weeks, he has met with the US Special Representative for Afghanistan, a number of Taliban political opponents in Turkey, Tajikistan and India.
