Bayan News

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for afghanistan’s acting government, said that several Daesh hideouts were destroyed in Mazar-e-Sharif as a result of their operations.

According to MajaD, the operation was carried out late Friday night (March 17) in the 5th, 6th and 8th security districts of Mazar-e-Sharif city, resulting in the deaths of a number of Isis ally.

An Islamic Emirate force was also wounded in the operation.

Thousands of prisoners have been released from various Afghan prisons after the Islamic Emirate took control of Afghanistan, and isis members may reportedly be among those released.

The operation comes as ISIS has carried out a number of terrorist attacks on parts of Mazar-e-Sharif over the past year, including attacks on gatherings of journalists.
