Unama: More than 1 million girls have been banned from lessons

Bayan News

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says more than 1 million Afghan girls have been banned from attending classes as the new school year begins.

In a message on Tuesday, UNAMA again called on Kabul’s acting government to end discriminatory policies against women and girls.

According to UNAMA, such policies not only prevent half of the people from achieving their dreams, but also cause great harm to Afghanistan.

However, kabul’s acting government was expected to open the gates of schools and universities to girls and women as the new education year began, but this expectation did not materialize.

Senior government officials recently announced that the blocking of schools and universities to permanent girls has not been blocked until the second one.
