Ocha: Afghanistan is facing the most severe humanitarian crisis in the world

Along with the spread of poverty and hunger in Afghanistan, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Aid in Afghanistan (OCHA) describes this country as suffering from the “most severe” humanitarian crisis in the world.
This institution announced on Monday (April 3) that in 2023, it has received only less than five percent of the requested budget for its aid operations.
According to OCHA’s concerns, Afghanistan, which is facing the biggest and most severe humanitarian crisis in the world, has attracted very little support and has turned Afghanistan into a country with the lowest budget in the world.
Ocha warns that if financial resources are not provided, there will be a risk of cutting off aid, including food delivery to millions of people in Afghanistan.
However, the United Nations in Afghanistan requested more than four billion dollars in 2022 after the Islamic Emirate took over.
Still, many countries of the world have not promised to provide financial support to Afghanistan, and this has increased the concerns that aid will not be provided to the needy.
In addition, the serious restrictions of the caretaker government of Kabul regarding the prohibition of girls’ education, the prohibition of education and the prohibition of women’s work in institutions have affected the way international aid is provided.
