Bayan news

International media have reported that a 72-hour ceasefire in Sudan has been agreed between the country’s army and the rapid reaction force militias, and this has brought relative peace among the Sudanese.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced on Monday evening (April 24) that the ceasefire was proposed by the US and Saudi Arabia and both sides agreed to it.

The US Secretary of State asked the parties to the conflict to abide by the provisions of this ceasefire agreement.

Blinken also noted that the aforementioned ceasefire was the product of 48 hours of continuous and successful negotiations between the United States and Saudi Arabia, which he offered to the conflict parties.

The armed conflict between the Sudanese army and the rapid support forces in this country has led to the death of at least 420 people and the wounding of 3700 others after eleven days.

This conflict has also forced thousands of people in the conflict areas to leave their homes and flee to Egypt and Chad.
