Sanctions imposed on Afghanistan’s banking sector have weakened the country’s economy

The Central Bank of Afghanistan says that the sanctions imposed on the banking sector have prevented the country’s economy from growing and developing.

Hedayatullah Badri, the head of this bank, made these statements on Thursday (June 22) in a meeting with Fereydon Senirlioglu, the United Nations special coordinator for Afghanistan.

After being appointed to this position, Oglu has entered Kabul for the first time.

The Central Bank of Afghanistan added in a newsletter that during this meeting, there was a discussion on joint cooperation, the growth of the banking sector and the release of Afghanistan’s foreign exchange reserves.

Mr. Badri emphasized that the sanctions imposed on the Afghan bank sector have affected the country’s economy.
