Beyan News – Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Defense Minister, says that if Ukrainian forces use cluster bombs supplied by the United States, Moscow will be forced to use similar weapons. In an interview with Reuters, he added, “If America gives cluster bombs to Ukraine, Russian armed forces will have to use similar weapons against Ukrainian armed forces in response.”
According to the Russian Defense Minister, Moscow has access to cluster bombs, but has not been forced to use them in the war in Ukraine so far.
The United States announced last week that it would provide cluster bombs to the Ukrainian army. At the same time, senior Kiev officials also welcomed this US aid and stated that these bombs would not be used outside the territory of Ukraine.
However, more than 100 countries around the world have agreed not to use cluster bombs due to their high destructive power.
