The Supreme Court of the Islamic Emirate publicly flogged three men and one woman in Paghman district of Kabul.
Bayan News- on Thursday (July 12), these individuals were arrested from the Qargha area of Kabul and were tried in the lower court of Paghman.
The Supreme Court has sentenced each of them to three months in prison and 20 lashes.
These individuals were punished in the courtyard of the lower court on Monday of this week, and court officials have stated that this punishment is meant to serve as a warning to others.
Since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, dozens of people have been physically punished in public on various charges.
Public corporal punishment has sparked reactions, and international organizations consider this action by the interim Kabul government to be in conflict with human rights principles.
