The missile attack by Moscow on the port of Odessa; the President of Ukraine promises revenge

Bayan News –  Odessa witnessed one of Russia’s most severe attacks since the beginning of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, as 19 missiles were fired at the city last night, and only 9 of them were destroyed before hitting their targets. The attack came shortly before Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko for two days.

The missile attack on this port city resulted in at least two deaths and twenty injuries, according to EuroNews. The city’s Orthodox Cathedral, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, also suffered serious damage. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised that the attack would not go unanswered.

Zelensky said, “Odessa’s revenge against Russian terrorists will definitely be taken.” Kiev also announced that the city’s central historical church was destroyed and called the move an “unforgettable and unforgivable war crime.”

Andriy Palchuk, the chief deacon of this cathedral, told the French news agency that no one was injured during the attack on the cathedral.

Moscow announced that it had targeted all of its intended targets in the Odessa attack and claimed that these locations were being used to prepare “terrorist acts” against Russia. The port of Odessa has been bombed several times since the beginning of the Russian invasion, and in January of this year, the UNESCO Cultural Agency designated the city’s historical center as a World Heritage Site at risk.
