Mujahid: Preventing attacks inside Pakistan is not our responsibility

Bayan News – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, responded to recent statements by Pakistani intelligence officials, stating that preventing and controlling attacks within Pakistani territory is not Kabul’s responsibility. He added that it is the duty of Islamabad’s security and intelligence agencies, which allocate a significant portion of their budget for this purpose.

Mujahid issued this statement while Monir Asim, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, once again claimed that Afghan citizens are involved in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, which is detrimental to regional peace and stability and violates the Doha Agreement.

Asim had stated, “There is no terrorism in Pakistan, and the involvement of Afghan citizens in terrorist incidents in Pakistan is the responsibility of the interim Afghan government, which is contrary to the Doha Peace Agreement.”

In response to these claims, Zabihullah Mujahid stated in a statement on Wednesday night (August 8) that Kabul does not support any attacks in Pakistan and does not allow anyone to use Afghan soil against Pakistan. However, preventing and controlling attacks within Pakistan is not the responsibility of the Islamic Emirate; rather, it is the duty of Islamabad’s security and intelligence agencies, which allocate a significant portion of their budget for this purpose.

Mujahid’s statement mentioned, “In the past two years, since an independent and responsible government was established in Afghanistan, the security situation in Afghanistan and the region has significantly improved. If security incidents have increased only in Pakistan, Pakistan should find a solution within its own country.”

The spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate explicitly stated that Pakistan should manage its own security situation carefully and look for a solution within its own borders.

According to Mujahid, in the past year, 18 Pakistani ISIS militants were killed in various operations by the forces of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, where they were involved in explosions and attacks, and dozens of others were captured alive, with documents and evidence available.

However, in recent months, the level of insecurity has increased in various parts of Pakistan, and Pakistani officials have pointed accusing fingers at the interim Kabul government.

The increase in insecurity within Pakistan has severely strained the Kabul-Islamabad relations.
