UNAMA Chief Holds Talks with Amir Khan Muttaqi on UN Security Council Meeting

Bayan News – On Tuesday evening, August 18th, the Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), Ottenbeyeva, met and held discussions with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.

UNAMA stated on its X platform today: “As part of extensive consultations for the upcoming United Nations Security Council meeting on Afghanistan, UNAMA met with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the governing authorities.”

The organization further emphasized that UNAMA is committed to constructive engagement and ensuring the voices of all Afghans are heard.

The United Nations Security Council meeting is taking place at a time when the international community is concerned about the restrictions imposed on Afghan women and girls.

Furthermore, the global community has welcomed the achievements of the caretaker Kabul government in areas such as drug control, ensuring national security, and combating terrorist groups.
