Nearly two thousand women are performing their duties in the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate

Bayan News – Nearly two thousand women are serving in the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate, according to officials from the government’s interim Kabul administration.

Abdul Matin Qaneh, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, stated on Wednesday (November 15) to Afghan media outlets that these women are performing their duties in various departments of the ministry, including the General Passport Office, Public Services Directorate, inspection stations, and other departments.

He added that more than 1,995 women are serving in various departments of the Ministry of Interior, and their presence in the ranks of the security forces, especially in service-oriented departments, is considered essential.

Two years ago, with the resurgence of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, all female employees in government offices were confined to their homes, and for some of these women, the government has neglected their rights, while others have been dismissed from their positions.

The dismissal of female employees in government agencies has caused economic difficulties for many families, and it is said that these women were the breadwinners for their families.

The prohibition on women’s employment in government offices is not limited to domestic institutions but has also been implemented in domestic and international organizations.
