Ahmad Massoud in Moscow: The solution to the Afghan crisis is a legitimate and elected government by the people of Afghanistan

Bayan News – Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, stated during the Moscow conference that the solution to the Afghan crisis and assistance to the people is the establishment of a comprehensive and elected government by the people of Afghanistan themselves.

On Friday (November 23), the Moscow conference was hosted by the Just Russia Party and attended by various opposition figures to the Islamic Emirate regime. In this conference, Ahmad Massoud, Mohammad Mohaqiq, Fawzia Koofi, Shakira Barakzai, and several other opposition political figures were present, opposing the caretaker government in Kabul.

This is the first time that political opponents of the Islamic Emirate regime have gathered in Moscow, the capital of Russia, after its renewed rule over Afghanistan.

Ahmad Massoud emphasized in his speech that any relations between regional and world countries with Afghanistan should be based on respect for the will and desire of the Afghan people.

He stated that Afghanistan has plunged into a deep and severe political, economic, and security crisis, and the creation of a broad umbrella for political forces and resolving Afghanistan’s issues requires the participation of the people through a referendum to determine the type of political system.

The leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan further clarified that he does not favor any major world powers, but he wants Afghanistan to pursue a policy of friendship through internal consensus and regional and international solidarity, in order to break free from the cycle of violence.
