Breaking news: Hamas Political Office Deputy Chief Killed in Israeli Drone Strike
Bayan News – Lebanese media outlets reported on Tuesday evening (January 2nd) that Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy chief of Hamas’ Political Office, was killed in an Israeli drone strike in the “Dahiyeh” area in southern Beirut, along with three other senior Hamas members.
According to these reports, 11 other people were injured in this drone attack.
Hamas also confirmed the deaths of two senior commanders of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the movement, along with Saleh al-Arouri.
According to Hamas, the deputy of their Political Office was the mastermind behind the “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm” that targeted Israel on October 7th.
In response to al-Arouri’s killing, a wave of rockets was launched towards the Israeli capital by Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media outlets have also reported that the deputy chief of Hamas’ Political Office was scheduled to meet with Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, on Thursday.
This drone strike comes as the Israeli army is in the process of withdrawing from parts of Gaza.
Meanwhile, not only have diplomatic efforts to halt the conflict between Hamas and Israel been unsuccessful, but the confrontation between the two sides continues with greater intensity.
It is said that over 20,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
