Thousands of students have requested online education from the University of People in Britain

Bayan News – a British newspaper, has reported that with the ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan, thousands of girls turned to online learning at American and British universities in 2023.

According to the Financial Times, in 2023, more than 20,000 Afghan girls who were enrolled in universities in their own country registered online at the University of People in Britain. English literature and business studies are among the most sought-after subjects by female students at this British university.

However, the ban on educating girls in Afghanistan has been in place for nearly two years, and despite international pressure, the Taliban has not shown willingness to reopen schools and universities for girls.

The continued ban on education has had negative psychological and emotional effects on girls and has led to problems such as early marriages and involuntary migration.
