Bayan News – Express Tribune, a Pakistani newspaper, reported that Maulana Fazlur Rahman, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party in Pakistan, has had meetings with several leaders opposing Islamabad during his trip to Afghanistan.

The newspaper, citing its sources, stated that the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party has met with Hafiz Gul Bahadur, the leader of a splinter group of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan known as Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan, and Noor Wali Mahsud, the leader of the Pakistani Taliban movement.

According to the newspaper, Fazlur Rahman’s meetings with the Taliban’s opponents have taken place separately.

This report has not been confirmed by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party or the interim Kabul government.

The Express Tribune’s report stated that Maulana Fazlur Rahman will provide a report to Pakistani authorities regarding his trip to Afghanistan.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman, who led a delegation of scholars to Kabul, was warmly received by Afghan Taliban officials.

In addition to meeting with senior Taliban officials, he also traveled to Kandahar and had a meeting with the Taliban leader, but no details of the meeting were leaked to the media.

However, the Pakistani government has stated that Fazlur Rahman’s trip to Afghanistan was a personal visit and has no connection to the Pakistani government.
