Ministry of Education: Taliban Hired Over 40,000 Teachers, Including Women, in the Past Two Years
Bayan News – Officials from the Ministry of Education of the Taliban state that over the past two years, more than 40,000 individuals, including women, have been employed as teachers within the ministry.
Mansour Ahmad Hamza, the spokesperson for the ministry, wrote on Wednesday (16th of January) on the X platform that in addition to the teacher recruitment, there is a plan to rebuild nearly a thousand schools, with approximately 600 of them being completed this year.
The Ministry of Education spokesperson stated that capacity-building programs have been implemented for 16,000 teachers this year and emphasized that vocational teachers will be employed in the near future to improve the quality of the education sector.
It should be noted that after coming to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban imposed a ban on education for girls above the sixth grade, while also prohibiting female teachers from teaching boys.
However, female teachers currently sign their attendance and receive monthly salaries.
