Azerbaijan Reopens Its Embassy in Kabul for the First Time
Baku, Azerbaijan – The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this morning, Friday, February 15th, that Azerbaijan has reopened its embassy in Kabul for the first time.
Abdulqahar Balkhi, the spokesperson for the ministry, stated in a press release that Elham Mohammadov, the Azerbaijani ambassador, handed over the official letter of the embassy’s reopening to Amir Khan Muttaqi.
According to the Taliban’s foreign ministry spokesperson, this is the first time Azerbaijan has reopened its embassy in Afghanistan and sent a diplomat to the country at the ambassadorial level.
On the other hand, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs assured the Azerbaijani ambassador that necessary cooperation would be provided with the embassy of Azerbaijan.
Furthermore, discussions and exchanges of views have taken place between the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban and the Azerbaijani ambassador in Kabul regarding bilateral economic cooperation.
