Taiwan is increasing its military exercises and missile drills this year
Bayan News – in tandem with rising tensions between Beijing and Taipei, Taiwan’s Minister of Defense, Chiu Kuo-cheng, has stated that the country’s military exercises will see a significant increase during this calendar year.
As reported by Reuters, during his speech at the Legislative Yuan on Tuesday, March 5th, he mentioned that these military exercises are being conducted in response to military movements and threats from China.
He added, “We must consider strengthening our training in response to the enemy’s situation.”
The Minister of Defense further stated that the amount of ammunition used in the military exercises will comply with international agreements, but he did not provide further details.
Taiwan is pushing ahead with military exercises as military tensions between Taiwan and China continue to escalate with each passing day. Chinese authorities claim that Taiwan is part of China’s sovereignty.
