Taliban announces the commencement of practical work on “CASA-1000 Project”

Bayan News – Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban, states that on Friday (March 8th), the contract for the “CASA-1000 Project” was signed between the countries of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Mujahid has written on the X platform that this project will transfer electricity from Central Asia to South Asia and is supported financially by the World Bank.

The Taliban spokesperson continues to state that the practical work for the CASA-1000 Project will commence by the end of the current Gregorian month.

The CASA-1000 Project aims to transfer electricity from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and was introduced at the Regional Economic Cooperation Conference (RECCA) in 2018.
