Miller: Washington Concerned About ISIS Threats in Afghanistan and the Region

Bayan News – Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, says that the United States is concerned about the ISIS threats in Afghanistan and the countries of the region.

The spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State added in a press briefing on Tuesday, March 26, that Afghanistan should not become a safe haven for terrorist groups.

According to Miller, the United States is vigilant about the ISIS threats and is jointly fighting against this threat with its allies.

This official from the U.S. Department of State has called on the Taliban to separately combat ISIS, which would be in their own interest.

These statements come as ISIS has orchestrated deadly attacks in Afghanistan and Russia in recent days, claiming the lives of hundreds of people.

Some time ago, an ISIS attacker targeted a public gathering in the city of Kandahar, resulting in the death and injury of a large number of civilians.
