The Taliban has issued coal mining licenses to 300 people

Bayan News – The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan has announced that they have issued coal mining licenses to 300 individuals.

The ministry stated in a newsletter on Saturday (March 30) that they have prevented illegal, unauthorized, and smuggling of mines in Afghanistan.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Mines continues to state that measures have been taken to establish a committee to protect Afghanistan’s mines in the northern part of the country.

After coming to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban has focused its efforts on mining in the country, but questions have been raised in this regard.

According to international media reports, some armed groups, including Al-Qaeda, engage in profiteering from mining in Afghanistan.

Media reports have indicated that Al-Qaeda has earned at least $200 million from gold mines in Takhar and Badakhshan in the past two years.
