At least one thousand Afghan migrants were deported from Iran in “one day”

Bayan News – The Taliban Ministry of Migrants states that 983 migrants have been repatriated from Iran, either forcibly or voluntarily.

In a newsletter published on the X platform, the ministry adds that these migrants returned on Tuesday (April) through the Islam Qala border crossing.

According to the Taliban Ministry of Migrants, 375 of the migrants identified as in need have been provided with basic supplies.

The ministry further states that among the returning migrants, 30 of them are unaccompanied children who have been referred to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for food and non-food items.

However, Pakistan and Iran have increased the deportation process of undocumented migrants in recent months.

According to published statistics, at least 1.5 million undocumented migrants have been repatriated from these countries in the past two years.
