Karzai once again demanded the lifting of the ban on girls’ education by the Taliban

Bayan News – Hamid Karzai, the former President of Afghanistan, has once again urged the Taliban to open the doors of schools and universities to girls in his Eid message.

In his Eid message today, on Tuesday (April 9th), Karzai stated, “Taking advantage of this opportunity, we once again ask the interim Islamic government to open the doors of schools and universities to girls as soon as possible for a prosperous, independent, and self-sufficient Afghanistan.”

The former President of Afghanistan believes that providing education for girls and ensuring their fundamental rights will save Afghanistan from dependence on others and contribute to the progress of the country.

Karzai has repeatedly called on the Taliban to lift the ban on girls’ education over the past two years, requests that have reportedly caused difficulties for him.

In the new academic year, it was expected that the doors of schools and universities would be opened to girls, but this expectation was not realized.
