Meeting between the Head of UNAMA and the Foreign Minister of India

Bayan News – The Deputy Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has reported a meeting between Roz Otunbayeva, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan, and the Foreign Minister of India.

UNAMA stated on Friday (April 18) on its X platform that the Head of UNAMA met and held discussions with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Foreign Minister of India, in the city of Delhi.

The UNAMA organization added that the Head of UNAMA expressed appreciation for India’s humanitarian support to the people of Afghanistan.

According to UNAMA, during this meeting, the importance of regional and international cooperation in addressing the existing challenges in Afghanistan was also discussed.

India is one of the key countries providing assistance to the people of Afghanistan and has implemented numerous infrastructure projects in recent years.

While India has not yet officially recognized the Taliban government, it is said that in the near future, the Afghan embassy in India will be handed over to the Taliban.
