The Foreign Minister of the Taliban accuses three neighboring countries of Afghanistan of supporting ISIS
Bayan News – Simultaneously with growing concerns about the rise of ISIS in the region, the Foreign Minister of the Taliban has accused three neighboring countries of Afghanistan of supporting ISIS.
Amir Khan Muttaqi, who was speaking at the Afghan-Kazakh Exhibition in Kabul on Thursday (April 25), stated that one neighboring country provides manpower for ISIS, another neighbor provides training, and yet another neighbor supports ISIS attacks.
According to the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, these neighboring countries have provided the grounds for ISIS in the region, but Mr. Muttaqi did not mention the names of these neighboring countries of Afghanistan.
Some Afghan media outlets, citing their own sources, have reported that the countries being referred to by Mr. Mateqi are likely Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Iran.
Amir Khan Muttaqi added that investigations by this group indicate that out of every 10 security incidents, 8 are planned outside of Afghanistan. Mr. Mateqi stated that if these countries fulfill their responsibilities properly, security problems will not arise in Afghanistan.
The Taliban’s Foreign Minister emphasized that Afghanistan does not harm others and that other countries should refrain from “destructive actions in Afghanistan.”
Muttaqi stated in his remarks that the security of Afghanistan is connected to regional security and added that if Afghanistan is secure, the region will be safe.
Concerns about the increase in ISIS attacks in the region have intensified following a deadly attack carried out by ISIS members on the outskirts of Moscow, Russia, a few months ago.
During investigations by the Russian government, it was revealed that the ISIS attackers in Moscow were Tajik nationals.
