US Secretary of Defense: No Sign of Hamas Attack on US Forces
Bayan News – Lloyd Austin, the US Secretary of Defense, stated in his latest remarks that the United States sees no signs of an attack by the Hamas group on US forces.
The US Secretary of Defense said in a press briefing on Friday, May 3rd: “I won’t discuss intelligence data, but currently, I see no indication of a genuine intention to carry out such an act.”
Austin further added, “Of course, this is a war zone, and many things can and will happen.”
On the other hand, John Kirby, the National Security spokesperson at the White House, recently announced that despite adverse weather conditions causing logistical challenges, the dock constructed by the US army to expedite the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza will be inaugurated in the coming days.
Kirby explained in a press conference: “We all hope this will happen within the next few days.”
Following the attack by Israeli settlers on the shipment of aid sent through Jordan and prior to the actions of Palestinian armed elements to divert its route, the United States has requested assurances from Israel and Hamas to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of aid to non-combatants in Gaza.
