Taliban Announces Participation in Third Doha Meeting
Bayan News – Zakir Jalali, one of the officials of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says that representatives of the ministry will participate in the third Doha meeting.
The Doha meeting is scheduled to be hosted by the United Nations on June 30 this year, with the participation of special representatives of countries for Afghanistan.
While this Taliban foreign ministry official did not provide further details on the composition of the delegation, he added that the modalities of participation in this meeting have been discussed and reviewed in the Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He wrote on the X platform on Wednesday (May 29) that no problems are seen in the agenda of the Doha meeting, and a decision will be made after receiving full details of the agenda of this meeting.
It should be noted that initially, UN officials had said that the Doha meeting would discuss issues such as human rights, the ban on girls’ education, how to form an inclusive government, and the appointment of a UN special representative for Afghanistan. But recently, it seems that these issues have been pushed to the sidelines.
It has been reported that the third Doha meeting will discuss topics such as banking issues and engagement with the Taliban.
