Bayan-News – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul reported on the meeting of Gholamreza Najari, deputy of this embassy, with Thomas Nicholson, the special representative of the European Union for Afghanistan.
The Iranian embassy said on Sunday (June 2) that in this meeting, the two sides discussed and talked about the third Doha meeting and regional and international cooperation with Afghanistan.
The special representative of the European Union in Kabul had previously met with senior Taliban officials, including the Foreign Minister.
The Taliban Foreign Minister clearly stated in this meeting that they are interested in meaningful participation in the third Doha meeting.
This meeting is scheduled to be hosted by the United Nations on June 30th, with the participation of special representatives from countries for Afghanistan.
The United Nations has announced that the issue of women’s rights and human rights will be a priority at this meeting.
