The United States, Qatar, and Egypt Call for the Signing of a Ceasefire Agreement in Gaza

Bayan News – On Saturday (June 1st), the United States, Egypt, and Qatar issued a joint statement calling on Israel and Hamas to sign a ceasefire agreement.

These countries, who are playing a mediating role in the Gaza conflict, stated in the statement that the ceasefire agreement proposed by the US President should be signed.

The statement said that the principles outlined in the US President’s proposed plan address the demands of all parties in an agreement that serves multiple interests, and could immediately end the long-term suffering and hardship of the Gaza residents as well as the prolonged pain and anguish of the hostages and their families.

It was also stated that this agreement provides a roadmap for establishing a permanent ceasefire and resolving the crisis in Gaza.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and the United States had, in a telephone conversation, announced the agreement of their countries on the need to end the war in Gaza, establish a ceasefire, open crossings, and deliver humanitarian aid.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, in a telephone call with his American counterpart, emphasized the need to open all land crossings between Israel and Gaza to provide assistance and create safe conditions for the work of international aid groups in the Gaza Strip.

In this context, the agreement between Cairo and Washington on the need to end the war in Gaza, establish a ceasefire, open crossings, and deliver humanitarian aid was announced.
