Ban on Girls’ Education in Afghanistan; Over One Million Girls Deprived of the Right to Education

Bayan News – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that with the return of the Taliban in Afghanistan, over one million girls have been deprived of the right to education.

This agency announced on Tuesday (June 11) that the Taliban’s continued ban on education is affecting the future generation of Afghanistan.

UNICEF wrote on the X platform that education is the salvation of children in Afghanistan, and in this regard, the United Nations is investing in the future of Afghanistan in the field of education.

More than one thousand days have passed since the ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan, and despite international criticism, the Taliban have not yet said anything about lifting this ban.

The continued ban on girls’ education has created social problems such as domestic violence and underage marriages for girls.

On the other hand, a Pakistani research institution has recently added in a report that the Taliban are afraid of women’s presence in public spaces, as they fear that the presence of women in society will lead to the progress and modernization of Afghanistan.
