Two Boats Carrying Afghan and Iranian Refugees Sink in Italian Waters
Bayan News – The French news agency has reported that in the wake of the sinking of two boats in Italian waters, ten refugees have died and dozens of others are missing.
According to the report, rescuers reached a wooden boat near the Italian island of Lampedusa, where ten people on board had died and 51 others were rescued.
It is said that the occupants of one of the two boats were Afghan and Iranian nationals.
Rescue workers have said that a total of 61 people were on the waterlogged wooden boat, and the rescue teams were able to evacuate 51 unconscious people from the boat.
Meanwhile, Italian rescue teams have announced that they are searching the Calabrian coast to find people in the sea.
According to the Italian Coast Guard, a total of 60 refugees are missing.
