Shanghai Organization Leaders: The Only Way to Achieve Stability in Afghanistan is to Form an Inclusive Government
Bayan News – The leaders of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, referring to the current situation in Afghanistan, emphasized that the only way to ensure stability and peace in this country is to form an inclusive government.
The summit of the heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries was held for two days (July 3 and 4) with the participation of the leaders of Russia, Kazakhstan, India, Iran, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Turkmenistan.
Although Afghanistan is a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the leaders of the member countries of this organization have not invited the Taliban delegation to participate in the organization’s summit for the second time.
The leaders of the member countries of this organization, in a joint statement, emphasized that the only way to ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan is to form an inclusive government.
They stated that a government should come to power in Afghanistan that includes representatives of all ethnic and political groups in the current Afghan government.
They also announced that they are ready to support efforts to normalize the situation in Afghanistan.
This Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting was held under the slogan “Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue – Striving for Peace and Sustainable Development”.
