Trump: If I Were President, the Afghanistan Disaster Would Never Have Happened

Bayan News – In his latest speech, former US President Donald Trump once again addressed the issue of Afghanistan, emphasizing that such an event would not have occurred during his presidency.

Speaking on Saturday evening (July 20) at his first joint campaign rally with his running mate “JD Vance”, Trump said, “If I were president, the Afghanistan disaster would never have happened.”

The Republican presidential candidate in his speech stated that if he had been in the White House, he would have kept the Bagram Air Base and not allowed it to fall into the hands of China.

Over the past year, he has repeatedly criticized the Biden administration’s actions in withdrawing US forces from Afghanistan, stating that the current US government has handed over $85 billion worth of military equipment to the Taliban.

A few days ago, Trump also reiterated the importance of the Bagram military airfield, emphasizing that it is not important for Afghanistan, but rather is located in close proximity to the Chinese border.
