Bayan News – International media outlets have reported, citing their sources, that at least 15 people were killed in Israeli army air strikes on a civilian camp in Gaza.
According to the Associated Press, the strikes took place early Monday (July 22) in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, with women and children among the victims.
The news agency’s reporter in Gaza has reported that the Israeli air strikes on the Nuseirat camp also resulted in casualties, but the number of victims has not yet been determined.
The Israeli Air Force carried out these strikes a day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to the United States.
It is expected that Mr. Netanyahu will meet with U.S. President Joe Biden during this visit and address the U.S. Congress.
Meanwhile, the Gaza Strip is facing humanitarian challenges due to the Israeli blockade; its population of over 2 million is facing shortages of healthcare services.
The Associated Press reported that the discovery of polio infection has further exposed the hidden layers of the healthcare crisis in Gaza.
