Taliban Prime Minister’s Reaction to the Assassination of Haniyeh: The Resistance of the Palestinian Nation Will Continue

Bayan News – Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund, the Taliban’s Prime Minister, issued a statement on Sunday (August 4) in connection with the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the Head of the Political Bureau of the Hamas movement, and strongly condemned this action by Israel.

In a message, the Taliban Prime Minister said: “The Zionist regime (Israel) targeted Ismail Haniyeh at a time when he was a guest of a government and a senior negotiator of Hamas.”

Mullah Hassan Akhund further stated that targeting such a personality is a severe violation of all prevailing international norms and shows that the enemies have no respect for any principles in the ongoing war.

Criticizing the human rights organizations regarding Israel’s crimes in Gaza, he said: “The silence of Western institutions and self-proclaimed human rights organizations regarding the genocide of women, children, and civilians in Gaza reveals their true face.”

According to Mullah Hassan Akhund, this blatant crime of the Zionist regime shows that despite the genocide of Palestinians, Israel has no significant achievement in the Gaza war; therefore, the Zionist regime targeted the head of the Hamas Political Bureau to hide its despair.

He further stressed that although the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh is a great tragedy for the Islamic Ummah, there is a belief that the resistance of the Palestinian nation for the sake of truth and freedom will continue.

This senior Taliban official called on the world to prevent the continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza and not allow the flames of this war to spread throughout the region; otherwise, the Zionist regime and its supporters will be responsible for the widespread and expansion of this humanitarian disaster.

However, Ismail Haniyeh was killed early Wednesday of last week in the heart of Tehran along with his bodyguard.

Various reports and analyses have emerged regarding the manner of Haniyeh’s assassination, but Israel has so far remained silent and has not officially taken responsibility for it.

Islamic countries, including Hamas and Iran, have identified Israel as the perpetrator of Haniyeh’s assassination.

Iran has executed 20 Afghan nationals in the past seven months, according to some Iranian human rights organizations
