Taliban Responds to Mistreatment and Forced Expulsion of Afghan Migrants by Iran

Bayan News – The Taliban Ministry of Refugees said that the forced expulsion of Afghan migrants is against all Islamic, international, and neighborly principles, in response to the violence and forced deportation of Afghan migrants by Iranian police.

This ministry issued a statement on Friday (August 9th) after several days of violence against Afghan migrants in Iran.

According to the statement, the disturbing reports and images circulating on social media regarding the mistreatment of Afghan migrants are concerning.

The Taliban Ministry of Refugees added: “The forced expulsion of refugees is against all Islamic, international, and neighborly principles. To this end, incentive programs and coordination between the two countries should be pursued.”

According to the statement, it is expected that the Islamic Republic, as in the past, will use patience and tolerance towards refugees, address their problems, and put an end to violence against refugees.

On the other hand, the Taliban Ministry of Refugees has asked migrants to return to their homes and, if living in that country, to abide by the host country’s laws.

The Taliban Ministry of Refugees is responding as reports of violence and mistreatment by Iranian police against migrants have been published in recent days.
