Taliban: The Existence of Ayman al-Zawahiri’s Body has not been Confirmed Yet

Bayan News – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Taliban government, says that the body of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of the al-Qaeda network, has not yet been confirmed in Kabul, and there is no evidence that he was in Kabul.

Mujahid told Al-Arabiya network: “The presence of Ayman al-Zawahiri in Afghanistan has not been confirmed, and his body has not been seen.”

Two years ago, US President Joe Biden announced that the leader of the al-Qaeda network had been killed in a US airstrike in Kabul.

Biden had stated that al-Zawahiri had moved to the center of Kabul to be with his family.

After the US president’s announcement, Taliban officials issued an official statement that they had no information about the arrival and residence of Ayman al-Zawahiri in Afghanistan.

However, the Taliban had said they were investigating the matter.

Reports of the presence of the al-Qaeda network leader in Kabul had raised international concerns about the presence of terrorist groups, including al-Qaeda, in Afghanistan.
