Officials from the Taliban Foreign Ministry have released a video of Amir Khan Muttaqi during his trip to Turkey, showing him speaking among the staff of the Afghan consulate in Istanbul.
In this speech, Muttaqi advises the consulate employees to treat Afghan migrants residing in Turkey well, as they have been forced to leave the country due to poverty and unemployment.
The purpose of the Taliban Foreign Minister’s visit to Turkey has not yet been clarified.
These statements come after the International Organization for Migration recently reported that approximately one million Afghans have crossed the borders of Afghanistan in the past year.
