Putin threatens the West: If we are targeted with Western missiles, our response will be nuclear

Bayan News – Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday (September 25) at the opening of the Security Council meeting that if Moscow is struck by conventional Western missiles, it is likely to respond with nuclear force.

Putin explicitly warned that Moscow would consider any attack on Russia backed by a nuclear power as a joint attack.

The Russian President stated that recent changes are in response to the evolving global landscape, which presents new threats and risks for Russia.

Putin added, “An aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear country, but with the participation or support of a nuclear country, will be considered a joint attack on the Russian Federation.”

He further explained that the conditions for Russia’s use of nuclear weapons are clearly defined. He said that if Moscow detects the beginning of a large-scale missile, aircraft, or drone attack against Russian territory, it would consider the option of using nuclear weapons.

Putin affirmed that Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in case of “aggression” against the country or its ally Belarus, including with conventional weapons.

This warning comes after Western countries recently attempted to authorize the Ukrainian military to use long-range missiles against Russia.
