The Isfahan Police of Iran Calls for Increased Costs for Afghan Migrants

Bayan News – Hamid Ali-Naqianpour, the commander of Isfahan’s police in Iran, has stated that in order to force Afghans to leave Iran, the cost of living for them should be increased.

This Iranian police security official said during a press conference on Sunday (September 29) that Iranian senior officials have been proposed to raise the costs for the presence of Afghan nationals in Iran.

The commander also noted that, on average, around 300 Afghan migrants are collected and deported daily from this province.

He said, “In addition to actions being taken regarding undocumented foreigners in the city’s underbelly, both preventive and corrective measures must be carried out simultaneously.”

In recent months, officials of the Islamic Republic have increased the pressure on Afghan citizens in Iran by barring their children from enrolling in schools, refusing to sell bread to Afghan families, denying them housing rentals, closing their workshops, and deporting them from factories and other workplaces.
