Bayan News – On Monday night (September 30), the Israeli army announced the start of a ground operation in southern Lebanon, stating that the operation would be limited and targeted.
In a statement, the Israeli army mentioned that the targets are located in villages near the border and pose an immediate threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel.
The Israeli army also added that the soldiers involved in the ground operation in Lebanon have been training for this mission for several months.
Israel has stated that the air force and artillery will support the ground forces with precise attacks on military targets.
According to the Israeli army, they will continue their operations to achieve the war’s objectives and will do whatever is necessary to defend Israeli citizens and return the residents of northern Israel to their homes.
The Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon comes after several weeks of deadly airstrikes on Beirut.
In the Israeli airstrikes, the leader and senior commanders of Hezbollah were killed.
