Islamabad: The Afghan Taliban Should Focus on Internal Issues Instead of Interfering
Bayan News – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan on Monday (October 7) responded to recent statements by Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that the Taliban should focus on resolving their own internal problems rather than interfering.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Taliban must focus on forming an inclusive government and ensuring the rights of Afghan women and girls.
The statement read: “The Taliban should prioritize establishing an inclusive government and addressing the needs and demands of Afghans, including the right of women and girls to education, rather than violating their rights with a misguided interpretation of religion.”
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Taliban must also uphold their international commitments to ensure that Afghanistan does not become a safe haven for “terrorist groups.”
The ministry added that Pakistan remains committed to peace, dialogue, and cooperation in the region.
This statement comes after Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referred to protests by supporters of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, stressing that Islamabad should respect the legitimate demands of its people.
