Interim Government: Railway Freight in Afghanistan Increases

Bayan News – The National Railway Administration of the interim government has announced that 347,563 metric tons of goods were imported and exported via Afghanistan’s rail lines in the month of Mizan of the current solar year.

On Sunday, October 27, the administration issued a statement noting that the transported goods included petroleum, non-petroleum, and other materials, moving in and out of the country through the Hairatan, Aqina, and Torghundi ports.

The statement specified that 245,480 tons were moved through Hairatan port, 49,121 tons via Aqina port, 52,181 tons through Torghundi port, and 780 tons along the Khaf-Herat line.

According to the administration, a significant portion of the transported goods, totaling 7,123 tons, consisted of exports and transit shipments. The statement added that a large part of the exported goods included dried fruits and minerals.

Previously, the interim government’s Ministry of Public Works had also reported that 317,045 metric tons of goods were transported via the country’s railways in the month of Sunbula of this solar year.
